Appear on hover, disappear when you step away

Hover over a shot and buttons appear in all four corners; move the pointer away and they're gone. The defaults are Ghost top-left, Edit top-right, OCR bottom-left, Shrink bottom-right. On a shot smaller than 100 × 100pt they don't show up at all — the moment a button gets bigger than the picture, it stops helping.

Choose the action for each corner. Pick one that's already on another corner and the two swap automatically.

Decide what goes in which corner

In Settings ▸ Appearance, assign a different action to each corner: Ghost, Pin, Edit, OCR, Shrink, Flip Horizontal, Remove Background, Image Playground, Color Picker, Cute Float, Copy Link, Share, Close, or None. Assigning an action that's already in another corner swaps the two — the same action never ends up in two corners at once. In right-to-left languages, the whole layout mirrors, so the 'leading' corner stays leading.

The corner button, the right-click menu, and the shortcut all lead to the same action.

Locked actions and the recording layout

Actions that need Pro carry a lock badge, and clicking one tells you what's needed instead of silently failing. Ghost, Pin, Edit, OCR, Flip Horizontal, Remove Background, and Image Playground are Pro; Shrink, Color Picker, Cute Float, Copy Link, Share, and Close are free. Recording previews use a separate layout — text recognition doesn't make sense on video, so the defaults are Ghost, Edit, Pin, and Shrink, and changing the shot layout leaves the recording one untouched. Every action is also in the right-click menu, so emptying all four corners never costs you a feature.

When you'd use it

If you pull text out of screenshots all day

Put text recognition in the corner your cursor already lands on, and it's hover, click, paste — done.

If you share more than you save

Swap the save button for copy link, and every shot becomes a URL in two clicks.

Questions about this

Can I put the same action in two corners?

No. Assigning an action that's already elsewhere swaps the two — you never end up with a corner that duplicates a neighbor.

Can I hide the buttons entirely?

Set all four corners to 'None.' Every action still lives in the right-click menu.

Don't they cover up the screenshot?

They appear in the corners on hover and disappear when you move away. On a shot smaller than 100 × 100, they don't show up at all.
